Dr. Chad Robertson - North Clinic
Dr. Chad Robertson, a native of upstate New York near Saratoga Springs, completed his undergraduate studies at Castleton State College in Vermont with a degree in Sports Medicine. During that time Dr. Robertson was a member of the college sports medicine athletic training staff as well as a member of the Castleton State men's baseball team playing 2B and pitching. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Robertson enrolled at New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY, where he graduated Cum Laude in 2005.
With Dr. Robertson's past experience as a certified athletic trainer, his primary focus as a Chiropractic Physician revolves around sports injuries, soft tissue conditions and rehabilitation. Dr. Robertson is excited to once again be the official team provider for the Charlotte Checkers hockey team for this season. Dr. Robertson has also works with the Charlotte Bobcats as a spinal health consultant when players require chiropractic spinal maintenance or injury care. Dr. Robertson also holds the title of Director of Rehabilitation at Estramonte Chiropractic. Dr. Robertson is certified in Graston Technique, (www.grastontechnique.com) a revolutionary soft tissue mobilization method intended to improve the time necessary to rehabilitate chronic and acute soft tissue injuries.
In his free time Dr. Robertson enjoys attending local sports events and outdoor activities, especially golf . Dr. Robertson and Dr. Mike Estramonte have known each other since they played sports together in high school.
What is a Certified Athletic Trainer or an A.T.C.? According to the American Medical Association, an Athletic Trainer is licensed health care provider who collaborates with medical physician to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients in exercise settings. An Athletic Trainer encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic health conditions or injuries involving impairment, functional limitiations and disabilities. In short terms, Athletic Trainers prevent, evaluate, diagnose and rehabilitate sports-related injuries while also having the ability to provide emergency intervention when necessary. All Athletic Trainers are licensed under the NATA or National Athletic Trainers Association and are required to complete continued education and be certified in advanced life-saving procedures after passing a national certification exam. Typically in order to graduate from an accredited institution with a degress in Athletic Training, a minimum of 800 credit hours of hands-on education are required. In comparison, Chiropractic Sports Physicians, or C.C.S.P., typically spend an average of 300 credit hours of post-graduate studies to earn their distinction as a C.C.S.P.
Dr. Robertson is proud to offer help to those patients who suffer from sports injuries or require more extensive spinal rehabilitation.
